Three Answers

(1) We are here to represent and serve the people not corporations.

(2) Democracy only matters when it is a pure democracy not one controlled by lobbyists and vested interests. At present it not counts to career politicians, most of whom say nothing and toe the party line

(3) People are no longer valued by the current political system. It is a machine that dictates we are more and more detached from what we need as creatures of the earth.
