Skinny Vintage

The Skinny Vintage Investment Corporation is a fictional construct created as part of The Ballad of Skinny Lattes and Vintage Clothing – a six movement “noise opera” by artist, Joseph Young AKA Giuseppe Marinetti.

Conceived in 2012 by Young in his studio as a sound installation and temporarily exhibited at Fabrica gallery in Brighton, the project has developed as a performance installation and concert series in 2013-14, touring venues and festivals across the UK and Europe. An edition of the work has been acquired for the permanent collection of the Estorick Collection in London.

The Ballad of Skinny Lattes and Vintage Clothing is a satire that charts the rise of a Revolutionary Middle Class as it struggles to regain control of the high street from a mythical Zionist cabal of global banking corporations. It is a story of gentrification, anti-Semitism and austerity and how the financial and political turmoil of the 1930’s has come back to haunt us…

The work adapts site-responsively to non-traditional venues, galleries and concert halls; aided by a production team headed by acclaimed London based producers Fruit for the Apocalypse (FFTA). It is available in 2015-16 for festivals, one-off events and gallery installations.

Commissioning inquiries can be made by contacting Creative Producer Harry Ross at FFTA.

The Ballad of Skinny Lattes and Vintage Clothing is a co-production from FFTA and Neo Futurist Collective – an artists’ group dedicated to the celebration of urban noise.
